Felicity Urquhart is a multi-award winning Australian singer and songwriter. Raised in Tamworth, New South Wales she began her career as an 11 year-old busker at the Tamworth Country Music Festival. In addition to making great music, her dulcet tones can be heard across the airwaves as the host of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s long-running twang specialist program Saturday Night Country.

Buddy Miller , Rodney Crowell, Gillian Welch, Kim Richey – it’s their great songs and playing they sing with real emotion.

Have you visited Nashville before? If so, when?
Yes about eight times in the last 12 years.
What is your favourite thing about Music City?
Everything!! The music that you find in the bars, the songwriters and the energy of the place. It makes me want to lift my game.
If you could record a duet with anyone, who would it be and what would you sing?
My husband, Glen Hannah. Something new.
If you could co-write with anyone, who would it be and why?
Rodney Crowell, Gillian Welch, Lyle Lovett and Guy Clark….Do I need to say anymore than that?

What is the best thing about being an Australian musician?
We come from a beautiful free place that I become more aware of every time I go overseas.
Felicity will be performing at a range of Aussie specialist shows in Nashville, as well performing an official AMA showcase on Saturday September 15 at The Rutledge.
